I'm hungry! I really want to eat pizza, steak, anything chocolate and ... You get the picture! I don't particularly enjoy every aspect of fasting. In fact, tonight I will probably dream about all of the food that I miss eating. The truth is that fasting is not simply dieting and it is not an optional exercise for Christians that desire to live in victory in every area of their lives. In fact, Jesus taught us in Matthew 6 that it is one of the 3 duties of every Christian: Verse 2 When you give... Verse 7 When you pray... Verse 16 And when you fast... . Ecclesiastes 4:12 reminds us that, "A threefold cord is not quickly broken." There is something powerful that occurs in our lives when we put that threefold cord into practice. When you deal with the dictator within (your stomach), it enables you to live a life of freedom. If you are not fasting, do it today! If you've given up, start again! Fasting is great for your body and even better for your Spirit!
