The Blessed Life- Week 4

You can listen to this message right now by clicking here

Week 1- “The Foundation Of A Blessed Life- Generosity”
"A generous man himself will be blessed." Prov. 22:9
"A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." Prov. 11:25

Week 2- “The Blessed Test- The Power Of Tithing”
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matt 6:21
"The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives." Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB

Week 3- “Blessed To Be A Blessing- Giving”
“After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.” Job 42:10
“And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” 2 Corinthians 9:8

Week 4- “Self Serve" Are you serving others or serving your self?

THE WIDOW- Turn to Luke 21:1-4
Jesus taught us that real giving is not simply when we have enough left over. Real giving is when we give of our time, talent & treasure even at our own expense.
"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly; and whoever sows generously will reap generously." 2 Cor. 9:6

God Thoughts:
-Have a need, plant a seed.
-See a need, plant a seed. You can't harvest without planting seed.
-God's love is unconditional but His promises are conditional upon faith & obedience to His commands.

THE WASHING- Turn to John 13:3-16
Jesus demonstrated that if you want to be like Him, you must become a servant. We become more like Jesus when we choose to serve one another. Serving others is the path to the blessed life!
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.” Eccl.9:10
“...just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Matt 20:28
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name…” Phil 2:9

God Thoughts:
-Jesus separated the difference between knowing and doing.
-You believe the parts of the Bible that you do
-Serving leads to the path of blessing.

Make A Difference!

Don't miss a great opportunity to make a difference by supporting the adoption of 2 precious boys from Haiti. Jake & Kim Wood, our family life pastors, are in the process of raising funds to bring home their boys in the next few months. To help raise the funds, people from our church & community are putting together a spaghetti dinner on Sunday, November 21st. It all takes place at the Christiana Fire Hall from 1 to 6 p.m. If you don't live in the area & would like to make a donation, you can give online at & specify your donation!

Week 2- THE BLESSED LIFE- “The Blessed Test”

You can listen to this message right now by clicking here

“No one can serve two masters...You cannot serve both God and Money.” Matthew 6:24 (see also Ecclesiastes 5:10)
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21

"The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives." Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB

WHAT IS TITHING? "Tithe" means "a 10th part" & is an act of WORSHIP.
"Bring your whole tithe to My Storehouse (Temple) ..." Mal. 3:10
"On the first day of every week, set aside some of what you have earned and give it as an offering. The amount depends on how much the Lord has helped you earn." 1 Cor. 16:2 (LB)
"The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives." Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB
Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits (first part) of all your crops (income); then your barns will be filled to overflowing…”. Proverbs 3:9-10
"A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD." Leviticus 27:30

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33

Tithing releases the work of God through His CHURCH.
“10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.” Malachi 3:10

Tithing teaches you to TRUST God.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse... Test me in this...” Malachi 3:10
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much... if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” Luke 16:10-11 (see also Matthew 6:24, Ecclesiastes 5:10)

Tithing releases all of HEAVENS provision into your HOUSE.
“... Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." Malachi 3:8-10 (NIV)

Are you ready to trust?
