Love At Last Sight, Part 1- The Art of Being All There.

You can listen to this message right now by clicking here

We all have relationships that are less than what they should be. Now you can change everything and take steps to reconnect with the people who really matter—and I don’t mean by adding them on Facebook! Relationships are not about initial attractions, but about last things—the experience you shared the last time you were with someone…the words you spoke with her last week…the effort you made for him the last time you saw him. Yesterday we launched our Love at Last Sight one-month relationship challenge! From learning to be present in the moment, acting intentionally, risking awkwardness, and learning to let go, you’ll discover wisdom from the Bible that contradicts what popular culture would have you believe. If you want to improve your important relationships in 30 days. Here’s the Challenge!

1. Show up to each weekend experience during the challenge!
2. Name three key relationships in your life you want to be better.
3. Purchase & Read a chapter a day from the Love at Last Sight book.
4. Perform the Last Sight Challenge activities at the end of each chapter.

Here are the notes from yesterdays message, "The Art of Being All There." (Read, Luke 10:38-42)

1. WHEREVER YOU ARE, CHOOSE TO BE ALL THERE
“… Mary, … sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made….” (Vs. 39-40) “Mary has chosen what is better…” (Vs. 42)

-Choose to remove all distractions
"Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.” Matthew 6:6 (MSG)
-Choose to embrace the moment
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalms 46:10 (NIV)
-Choose to focus on the needs of others
“As Jesus and His disciples were on their way…” (Vs. 38a)

2. WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING, BE SENSITIVE TO “HOLY INTERUPTIONS”
Holy Interruption: “God’s greater purpose disguised as an annoying interruption to my man-made plans.”

“She came to Him and asked, ‘Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!’ ‘Martha, Martha,’ the Lord answered, ‘you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.’" (Vs. 40-42)
“We make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”- Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)

3. WHENEVER YOU HAVE OPPORTUNITY, DEMONSTRATE GOD’S LOVE
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:10 (NIV)
"So be careful how you act; these are difficult days. Don't be fools; be wise: make the most of every opportunity you have for doing good."- Eph. 5:15-16
