My Back Story- Part 3- How To Fulfill God's Assignment For Your Life

My Back Story-  Part 3-  How To Fulfill God’s Assignment For Your Life

Theme Verse- “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”  Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)

What Is Your Assignment?  Your Assignment Is The Unique Calling That God Has For Your Life.  Your Assignment Is The Problem God Has Designed You To Solve For Others.

Four Things You Must Do To Fulfill God’s Assignment For Your Life

1.  Listen To God’s Voice.
“Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” 11 So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying.” Acts 9:10-11 (NKJV)

“So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’”  1 Samuel 3:9 (NIV)

Key Thought-  The Voice That You Listen To Will Determine The Future That You Create.

2.  Choose Obedience Over Understanding
“But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel... 17 And Ananias went his way ... .” Acts 9:16-17 (NKJV)

God doesn’t owe you an explanation or reason for everything he asks you to do. Understanding can wait, but obedience can’t. Instant obedience will teach you more about God than a lifetime of Bible discussions. In fact, you will never understand some commands until you obey them first. Obedience unlocks understanding. @RickWarren

"... (God) your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."  Matthew 6:10 NIV

3.  Do What Is Possible So That God Can Do What Is Impossible
“And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.18 Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized.”  Acts 9:17-18 (NKJV)

Key Thought-  God’s Instruction may be illogical but it will always be possible. God will never ask you to do what you cannot, but He will always ask you to do what you can.

4. Trust God With the Results.
“Then Saul spent some days with the disciples at Damascus. 20 Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God. 21 Then all who heard were amazed, and ... Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the Christ.”  Acts 9:19-22 (NKJV) *see also Psalm 127:1, Hebrews 11:6

"Now when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep... .” Acts 13:36 (NASB)
