MIND MONSTERS, Part 5-- How To Keep From Losing Your Mind

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”  Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

Key Thought— Manage your mind because your mind is managing you.

Text: Daniel 4:28-37

4 Things You Need To Do To Keep You From Losing Your Mind

1.  TRUST in the Lord with all your heart.

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.”  Psalm 20:7

Key Thought- Everyone trusts something. The question is, what — or who — do you trust?  If you don’t trust God, you will create something else to trust.

2.  LEAN not on your own understanding.

“There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”  Proverbs 14:12 (NASB)

3.  In all your ways ACKNOWLEDGE Him,

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”  Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

4.  He will DIRECT your paths.

“I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron.”  Isaiah 45:2

MIND MONSTERS, Part 4— F.A.I.T.H. That Conquers Mind Monsters

Memory Verse— “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

KEY THOUGHT— When Your Faith Becomes Big, Mind Monsters Become Small.

“... if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”  Matt. 17:20 (ISV)
  • Everyone Has FAITH.
“For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.”  Romans 12:3 (NKJV)
  • You CHOOSE Your LEVEL Of Faith.
“Then He touched their eyes, saying, "Let it be done for you according to your faith!”  Matthew 9:29 (HCSB)

F.A.I.T.H. THAT CONQUERS MIND MONSTERS

F—FOCUS On The Positive

“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise”  Philippians 4:8 (NLT)

A—AFFIRM Yourself

“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again--my Savior and my God!”  Psalm 42:11

I—IMAGINE God Doing Something Good In Your Situation

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.”  Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)

T— TRUST God In All Things

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”  Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

H—HOPE For The Best

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  Romans 15:13 (NIV)

Closing Thought— Decide to grow your faith every day of your life. Focus on the positive, affirm yourself, imagine God doing something good in your life, trust God in everything, and hope for the best!

“For the Lord God is our sun and our shield.  He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.”  Psalm 84:11 (NLT)

MIND MONSTERS, Part 3— How To Slay The Mind Monsters That Are Holding You Back

Memory Verse— “Words kill or give life; they’re either poison or fruit -- you choose.” Proverbs 18:21

TEXT:  “Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. 23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. 24 I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. 25 But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”  Mark 11:22-25 (NLT)
